Aviation Surveyor

As a component of our continued expansion, we are looking to grow and develop a global team of experienced aviation surveyors and loss adjusters.

The role of the aviation surveyor and loss adjuster is wide and varied. Working primarily for our clients in the insurance and reinsurance markets (both locally and overseas), providing expert technical advice on claims. These assignments can vary from a catastrophic hull loss involving an international airline, to a bird strike causing damage to a multi-million dollar turbine, a propeller strike at a local flying club, to lightning strikes or ramp incidents. The role in varied and intellectually challenging.

The successful candidate(s) will have strong analytical skills and a varied technical background in aircraft maintenance, preferably licenced, with flight crew experience additionally welcome.

Potential candidates are invited to apply from all geographical locations and must be willing and able to travel globally at short notice.

Integra operates on a pre-agreed hybrid working basis (subject to meeting local working requirements and employment laws) in our London head office and strategic global offices across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

Key Responsibilities

These include

  • Attendance at incident/accident sites to complete a thorough investigation and review of the loss circumstances and damage sustained
  • Evaluation and assessment of incident elements that may trigger/impact policy response
  • To evaluate, negotiate, monitor, supervise (as required0 and agree upon recovery options, required repairs, and associated costs, disposal and salvage options
  • Provide detailed technically based reports to (Re)insurers regarding the circumstances, cause of loss, damage, repairs, salvage costs, certification of pilots/crew/aircraft engines, assessment of subrogation potential, third party claims and make the appropriate recommendations to (Re)insurers and other interested parties
  • Engage in proactive communications with interested parties, finding solutions where required, and ensure efficient management of the claim
  • Working with colleagues to provide technical advice, and assistance
  • Working with counsel and other consultants who may be appointed by principals to provide technical support in the cause of successful resolution of a claim
  • Undertake attendance at various marketing events and promotion of services provided by Integra
  • Contribute to Integra’s respected and leading publication, ‘Integrated

Skills & Experience Requirements

  • 10 years as a licensed aircraft engineer and/or 5 years’ experience as an aviation surveyor/loss adjuster in the insurance sector
  • Skilled and effective communicator both verbally and via reporting, and able to negotiate and discuss complex technical matters with individuals from all backgrounds and levels of seniority
  • Excellent spoken and written English, and fluency in the native language(s) of the local office base would be an advantage
  • Calm under pressure and able to deliver on deadlines and to think and react independently, finding solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Ability to work in all Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Keeping well organised files, notes, records and accurate time keeping and expense records, as each assignment progresses
