Integra appoints Ian Clendenning as Global Head of Mining

Integra is delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Clendenning as Global Head of Mining, effective 1^st October 2026.

Ian is a dual-qualified Engineer and Chartered Loss Adjuster, and an admitted member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM). He has specialised in engineering and natural resources loss adjusting since 1985 and is widely recognised for his expertise in the investigation, quantification, and resolution of complex mining and metals claims worldwide.

Ian has spent significant periods of his career working throughout the UK, Middle East, and Asia, providing specialist claims support across a broad range of mining operations and processing facilities. His extensive experience encompasses some of the most complex property damage and business interruption losses within the global resources sector.

Over the course of his career, Ian has managed major claims across a diverse range of commodities, including

• Coal (Underground methane explosion, surface and sub-level cave flooding)
• Iron Ore (Flooding of mines, ports, train derailments, process plant fire)
• Gold (Ball, SAG mill, Cyclone Cluster Feed failure, surface flooding, water inrush events to sub level caves, and inundation of underground crusher and hoist)
• Nickel (Processing plant failures, conveyor belt fires)
• Manganese (Cyclone damage to wharf, flooding of pits, erosion of haul roads)
• Salt: (Cyclone damage to haul roads, levee wall failures, erosion of salt pavement)
• Copper (Processing plant failure, water inrush event to sublevel cave)
• Zinc (Flooding of haul and mine roads, overtopping of Levee)

The natural resources sector presents a unique set of challenges, encompassing exploration, extraction, processing, storage, and the transportation of commodities to global markets. Disruptions within the sector can have significant operational, financial, and supply chain implications, making expert loss investigation, technical analysis, and claim mitigation essential to the effective management of mining and metals losses.
