Biography

Toni has a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Started engineering career in a design office for infrastructure before moving to the engineering office of Sulzer Brothers, Winterthur.

Started his (re)insurance career at Winterthur Re with global responsibilities in property & construction.

In 1996 he moved to New York as MD for a JV with Credit Suisse for structured credit solutions. For the same position he moved 2001 to Paris.

In 2006 he joined Catlin to establish European presence in construction/energy.

2008 moved to Milan, Italy to establish branch office of Catlin. In 2011 appointed head of specialty at Catlin Re, Switzerland.

Biography

Paul has a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering Design and Management and commenced his insurance career with Willis in their Construction Team working primarily on single project placements before joining JLT on their Project Solutions team.

After 10 years placing Construction Risks, Paul established the Catlin Construction and Engineering portfolio which grew to encompass a team of 30 underwriters operating out of 16 offices Worldwide. He then moved to the Travelers Syndicate to establish their International Construction Portfolio and subsequently became part of the leadership team. Whilst there he served as chairman of the LMA Engineering Panel and deputy chairman of the Non-Marine Panel.

Paul joined Integra in September 2021 to establish Integra Risk Services and support the  the continued growth of Integra’s global construction and engineering proposition in the London and International (re)insurance markets.

Biography

Ewan began his professional life as a graduate chartered quantity surveyor in 1977. In 1979 he moved into loss adjusting, ultimately serving as Managing Director of International Adjusters Partnership/Cunningham IAP, Thomas Howell Group; Technical & Specialist Services Company and IRISC Technical Services.

In 1998 Ewan established Integra Technical Services which operates in the area of complex technical lines claims in property, casualty and marine insurance. Ewan has pioneered the development of innovative strategies for handling and fast tracking the settlement of major and complex losses

Biography

Leo joined Integra in 2015 as COO and was promoted to CEO in 2018. He has overall responsibility for delivering the company’s business plan and strategic objectives and is responsible for a number of Integra’s client relationships around the world. Prior to joining Integra, Leo was the Global Head of Energy Claims for Zurich Insurance Company and handled several of their largest and most complex claims during his tenure. He was the financial and technical authority for Energy claims in the company and engaged with colleagues around the world to ensure the settlement of the company’s more challenging claims.

Leo sat on the Global Claims Leadership Team and also the Zurich UK’s Senior Leadership Team. Before this role, Leo was Energy Claims Team Manager at JLT for five years and prior to that he was a Claims Consultant at Indecs LLP helping Oil & Gas companies prepare their insurance claims for presentation to Loss Adjusters. Leo has spoken at numerous conferences including Lillehammer Energy Conference, Clyde & Co Energy seminar, OEC London, Energy Insurance London, WTW Construction Workshop.

Leo is the editor of ‘integrated’, Integra’s magazine devoted to specialist lines claims management.

Biography

Simon commenced his career at Babcock Energy in 1986 as a technician trainee. On completion of the training scheme, he held various positions, including design engineer, field service / commissioning engineer and lead design engineer, before transitioning into the insurance sector in 1995. 

Since then, he has gained a good understanding of the commercial aspects of engineering insurance working for insurer and broking companies as both a risk engineer and underwriter of construction and engineering risks. 

More recently he worked for a global provider of independent specialist consultancy risk management solutions to the Engineering and Construction insurance sector.

Biography

Mark is a senior civil engineer with over 30 years of professional experience including the design and construction of major international multi-disciplinary projects such as ports, harbours, marinas and road tunnels including design, site supervision
and management.

At Integra Mark’s principal activities concern the provision of advice on causation, damage, methods of repair and quantum together with engineering expertise and coordination of remedial works.

Additionally, Mark has specialist experience in unsafe Port and Berth investigations and has acted as an expert witness in both High Court and Arbitration proceedings.

Biography

Liam began his home warranty and inherent defects insurance career with NHBC in 2004 and has subsequently worked for Aviva and a specialist MGA, MX Underwriting.  This has allowed him to experience a considerable range of the UK market from different perspectives before joining Integra Risk Services in September 2022.

His roles have included portfolio and individual casework underwriting; environmental legislative/regulatory scanning; large loss reviews and feedback into underwriting controls; insurance policy and reinsurance treaty wording with reinsurance portfolio procurement and  1-in-200 scenario planning.

Liam joined Integra Risk Services to expand their risk engineering practice to support underwriters and brokers in the Inherent Defects Insurance market.

Biography

Robert is a chartered civil engineer (MICE) with ten years industry experience on large infrastructure projects for Arup, a global professional services firm providing design, engineering, architecture, and advisory services across every aspect of the construction environment.

While at Arup, he worked on a variety of large civil engineering projects including bridges, underground metro stations and other large civil structures, including notable projects such as London 2012 Olympics, HS2, Riyadh Metro and Copenhagen Metro.

He joined Integra in October 2023 from Zurich Insurance Company, where he spent the last six years as a Construction Risk Engineer, the last couple as the leader of the Construction and Power Generation team.

Robert is responsible for the provision of risk engineering services on global civil engineering, conducting thorough and systematic risk assessments and providing technical advice to clients on their risk management strategies.

Biography

Anand commenced his career as an engineering designer for a fabrication company before joining an insurance company as a Risk Engineer. In this role Anand conducted risk surveys, audits, and inspections for large corporations to assist underwriters and claims examiners.

He moved into loss adjusting in 2010 and has worked on a variety of claims from machinery breakdown to fire, cyclone and weather event perils to marine cargo, claims on EAR, CAR and ISR policies.

Anand also carried out risk inspections, PML valuations, Risk and Safety Audits, and Insurance Valuations for multinational companies re international airports, thermal and hydro power plants, transmission lines, multinational manufacturing companies, road infrastructure, telecommunications / 4G infrastructure etc.

Biography

Stephen is a chartered civil engineer (CEng) with over 20 years international risk engineering experience gained through working for insurance and other financial services companies.

He joined Integra in April 2024 from Macquarie Group, where he was Construction Risk Division Director responsible for reviewing technical information and data, preparing risk summaries, and monitoring progress and risk management on construction projects.

Prior to Macquarie, Stephen spent 18 years in the London insurance market as a construction risk engineer working for Allianz, Zurich, and Starstone, and has significant prior civil engineering experience gained with contractors and clients on large UK and international projects.

Stephen is responsible for the provision of risk engineering services on global civil engineering, conducting thorough and systematic risk assessments and providing technical advice to clients on their risk management strategies.

Phil has over 32 years of experience in the property insurance industry. In 1987 he started his career as a Risk Engineering Specialist with FM Global where he obtained his Professional Engineering License and performed risk analysis and inspections of various industry properties including Mining, Power Generation, Gas Transmission, Minerals Conversion/Processing, Manufacturing and others.

Having transitioned to adjusting large complex claims at FM Global, and after spell at Liberty Mutual Property, Phil moved to Zurich North America handling large complex claims under All Risk and Builder’s Risk policies.

Biography

Derek joined Integra at the beginning of this 2022 with over 20 years loss adjusting experience, having held senior positions at an international adjusting firm both within the UAE and South Africa. In his new role, he will be based in Dubai and be responsible for the continued development and growth of Integra’s operation within the Middle East, in addition to his day-to-day adjusting role.

Derek is a qualified Civil Engineer and Quantity Surveyor with experience of handling claims in a variety of sectors, including Construction, Engineering, Energy, Power Generation and Heavy Industry.

Biography

Szen is a professional mechanical engineer and worked in the energy sector for 20 years before entering the loss adjusting profession in 2020. He has extensive experience in global development projects covering detailed engineering designs, onsite constructions & mobilizations, and offshore subsea installations.

Szen has dealt with offshore windfarm projects in the renewables sector, specifically in the design and analysis of infield and export cables for offshore windfarm array configurations. He was also an engineering specialist advisor for risk surveys and forensic investigations to the London Insurance Market.

Biography

Dilan has a master’s degree in chemical engineering and has been involved with the Power and Energy sector since graduating in 2013. He previously worked as a project engineer in the Oil & Gas industry, providing cost, risk and scheduling services on global construction and decommissioning projects. His previous work also included insurance survey valuations of large processing facilities and refineries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Following his move into loss adjusting, Dilan has focused on engineering and construction claims specialising in both conventional and renewable power generation losses. He has been based in the Middle East for the past three years and joined Integra’s Dubai office in November 2021.

Dilan was the 2020/21 recipient of CILA’s Cuthbert Buckle prize for the highest performance in the Advanced Diploma examinations and is close to completing his chartership from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Biography

Natalia joined the Integra Technical Services in her role as Global Head of Operations, transitioning from a role of an Operations Manager with a Hedge Fund advisory.

Prior to this role, Natalia fulfilled the role as a Committee Manager at the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers UK where she was responsible for Security, Safety, Subsea and Well Expert Committees. In this role she worked with and alongside subject matter experts from 77 global energy companies.

Natalia is responsible for the delivery and implementation of the technology required for Integra Risk Services to fulfil the company’s commitments to their broker and insurer clients.

Biography
